Bumpdate: Week 27

Woah.  The last time I did this I was only 14 weeks along... SO MUCH has changed since then... here it goes :)

How far along: 27 weeks

Due Date: March 29, 2017

Baby is the size of: bunch of bananas

Symptoms: still hungry all of the time ;) and congestion!

Gender: BOY :)

Name: Raymond Maxwell "Max"

Movement: tons this past week.  Ever since about week 18 I was feeling flutters and movement.  It has JUST RECENTLY picked up a lot--- I was starting to get a little concerned at times!

Nursery: coming along!  We have just about all of the essentials, but still need things for the wall and other little random things!

Maternity Clothes: um, yes.  I can still squeeze into some pre-pregnancy dresses, but other than that- maternity all tha way!

Sleep: I've actually been sleeping pretty good!  I fall asleep super fast but do wake up between 1-2 times to pee and also wake up to switch from one side to the other.  But, I always fall back asleep instantly after waking.

Best Moment This Week: hmm.. probably seeing how Josh is when it comes to baby stuff and baby proofing the house!

Missing Anything: caffeine... lots of caffeine.  And I'd love to have the occasional glass of pinot grigo, especially since it's the Holidays.

Cravings/Aversions: no special cravings lately, I'm just hungry... a lot.  Haven't been much of a fan of veggies (although I love a good salad) and pork chops.  haha super random!

Health/Exercise: been working out! woo hoo!

Mood: super crabby lately!

Husband: the best, but he doesn't help me when I get in a bad mood ;)

Looking Forward To: My next appointment (I guess--- it's the glucose test!)- but I'm ready to hear his heartbeat again!

Bumpdate: Week 14

How far along: 14 weeks

Due Date: March 29, 2017

Baby is the size of: large lemon

Symptoms: feeling SO MUCH BETTER! Still hungry, but the starving feeling has subsided.  Mostly just a few pains in my stomach and headaches!

Gender: I'm still leaning towards BOY!

Name: we have them and I can't wait to find out so we can call them by their name :)

Movement: still none.  I haven't been freaking out or trying to feel any flutters.. I'm just going to let it happen and I feel like I will know when it does.

Nursery: Been pinning stuff and looking at items on Buy Buy Baby and Pottery Barn... PB is dangerous, y'all.  Seriously- the cutest stuff.

Maternity Clothes: Still a mixture of both, but my pants officially do.not.fit.

Sleep: Sleeps been better at night.  Still waking up about 2 times for a potty break.

Best Moment This Week: relaxing and hitting 14 weeks!

Missing Anything: sushi.  unlimited amounts of pumpkin spice lattes.

Cravings/Aversions: Chick-Fil-A.  Waffle fries.  Chicken sandwich with extra pickles.  Ketchup and Polynesian sauce on the side.  I could eat this everyday and my mouth is watering just typing it out.

Health/Exercise: Still been exercising about 5 times a week.

Mood: great mood-- better mood than lately!

Husband: still excited!

Looking Forward To: My next appointment on October 5th!  And celebrating my Grandpa's 90th Birthday this weekend!  And hopefully finding out when we will find out the sex of this baby!

Bumpdate: Week 13

How far along: 13 weeks

Due Date: March 29, 2017

Baby is the size of: Small Peach

Symptoms: still tired, have a headache today but I think it's allergies or a cold that I'm coming down with.  Still moments of cramping/pains, but mostly better!

Gender: I'm still leaning towards BOY!

Name: we have them picked out already!

Movement: none, yet.

Nursery: getting antsy to start buying for one.  But, we will wait until we find out the gender even though it will be gender neutral :)

Maternity Clothes: I'm starting to incorporate more maternity clothes in the mix!  I have some skinny jeans on the way so I hope they fit!

Sleep: I've been so tired, but I'm starting to toss and turn more often now!

Best Moment This Week: hmm I'm trying to think of things that have happened!  Probably just relaxing this past weekend and not having to worry about doing anything!

Missing Anything: hot dogs & sushi.

Cravings/Aversions: I craved Mexican a bit and then ate it 3 days in a row.  Oops.
Health/Exercise: I've been working out consistently the past 4 days... been following the modifier with The 21 Day Fix and throwing in some Active Maternity workouts.  I still want to start walking in the evenings when the weather gets cooler.

Mood: pretty good mood but crabby at times.

Husband: Pretty good!  He's starting to handle me a little better!
Looking Forward To: getting my hair CUT & COLORED this afternoon! Woo-hoo!

Bumpdate: Week 12

How far along: 12 weeks

Due Date: March 29, 2017

Baby is the size of: Ripe Apricot

Symptoms: definitely some cramping, still hungry!

Gender: won't know for another 8 weeks or so but I am convinced it's a BOY!  We will see!

Name: we have them picked out already!

Movement: no movement that I can feel.  Just had an ultrasound and baby was moving ;)

Nursery: haven't even really thought about it this week.

Maternity Clothes: Starting to work some maternity clothes into my mix, but still trying to use what I already have!

Sleep: I've been so tired and sleeps been pretty good except for getting up about 2 times each night.

Best Moment This Week: Telling our WHOLE WORLD via FB ;) Social media is a crazy thing!

Missing Anything: hot dogs, sandwiches, sushi, anything I can't have.

Cravings/Aversions: Starting to crave more salads but I still haven't been in the mood to cook much.

Health/Exercise: I had a little scare on Tuesday this week so I stopped workouts altogether.  I'm going to start implementing them back in my schedule soon because I feel better with a little exercise.

Mood: still crabby at times, but pretty excited right now!

Husband: SO EXCITED! He was so happy to tell his band and everyone!

Looking Forward To: my belly growing, feeling the baby move, and of course my next appointment in 3 weeks!

Bumpdate: Week 10

How far along: 10 weeks

Due Date: March 29, 2017

Baby is the size of: Tart Kumquat, but way less sassy ;) ha

Symptoms: tired and hungry at times.  Certain days I'm not in the mood to cook or really eat either, but then sometimes I'm starving.

Gender: way too early to know ;)

Name: we have them picked out already!

Movement: too early for that, but I am looking forward to the movement in the weeks to come!

Nursery: still going over what we like and don't like!

Maternity Clothes: My sister gave me a few things and I bought my first pair of maternity pants for work-- but I'm not sure if I like them yet.  I'm still in that awkward stage.

Sleep: so tired and make sure to get in naps during the weekends.  I have found the past couple of nights it's been a little harder to get comfortable.  I'm also getting up about 2 times each night to go potty.

Best Moment This Week: Telling our parents!!!

Missing Anything: coffee {which I'm going to start drinking a cup every now and then-- watching my caffeine intake, of course}

Cravings/Aversions: unhealthy foods.  But, I'm starting to feel the effects of the bad stuff I'm eating.  So- I'm trying to have lots of semi-healthy snacks and lunch options for the week.

Health/Exercise: I'm finishing up my last week of Country Heat!  Still loving it and think it's the PERFECT workout for those mamas-to-be.

Mood: super crabby and babes isn't liking it at all-- can someone PLEASE tell him to suck it up for a while?

Husband: SO EXCITED and we got to tell our FAMILIES--- and he wants to tell EVERYONE and I don't want to...yet!  ha

Looking Forward To: my appointment next Thursday--- and for being able to {hopefully soon} find the heartbeat on the Doppler my sister gave me.

Bumpdate: Week 9

How far along: 9 weeks

Due Date: March 29, 2017

Baby is the size of: A southern pecan.. how fitting ;)

Symptoms: tired, but not as bad as before.  I had a really bad headache this week that lasted over a day.  Still hungry and not nauseous at all.

Gender: way too early to know ;)

Name: we have them picked out already!

Movement: too early for that, but I am looking forward to the movement in the weeks to come!

Nursery: Still using it as my workout space.  I'll miss it when we have to turn it into the nursery. We have been looking at different items and nursery's on pinterest.  It's fun to dream and plan!

Maternity Clothes: Not yet-- although, I've been window shopping and adding items into my cart online.  Soon.

Sleep: sleeping like a baby.  I love it.

Best Moment This Week: seeing the little peanut and hearing his/her heartbeat!!

Missing Anything: coffee and caffeine.

Cravings/Aversions: still wanting all the unhealthy foods. I really want a Big Mac from McDonalds (haven't had one in YEARS) and I haven't caved in to that craving... yet.

Health/Exercise: I'm on Week 3 of Country Heat and trying to get in at least 10,000 steps on my fitbit everyday.  Monday was rough since I had a headache and went to sleep at 7.  Oops.

Mood: I've been crabby lately and having some minor mood swings.

Husband: He was SO EXCITED about our ultrasound and we were so nervous at the same time.  He wants to shout it from the rooftops, but I've sworn him to secrecy for now.

Looking Forward To: telling ALL of our family and close friends!  Our sisters both know but that's it, for now.

Bumpdate Week 8

How far along: 8 weeks

Due Date: March 29, 2017

Baby is the size of: A jelly bean

Symptoms: tired, a few cramps here and there, super hungry and not as nauseous.  I've also had a few other headaches here and there.

Maternity Clothes: Not yet- but I'm tempted.  I've gained a little too much weight (thanks to craving carbs and fried foods) and for over a week where I could. not. drink. water.  Root beer and sprite were my BFFs but they don't get along with my clothes.

Sleep: Sleep is still great.  I get up about 1x each night for a potty break- but that's pretty normal for me.

Best Moment This Week: hitting this milestone!

Missing Anything: coffee and feeling like myself!

Cravings/Aversions: still craving unhealthy foods and SPICY foods and red sauce.  No aversions other than just not feeling certain foods for the moment.

Health/Exercise: I'm on Week 2 of Country Heat!  I love it.  I really feel more energized after I workout.  If I'm not asleep by 6PM (ha!) I try to get in a neighborhood walk in the evenings.  I really want to be better about this.

Mood: I'm still in a weird mood- wanting to hear a heartbeat before I get too excited type mood.

Husband: He's been great-- but maybe a little to eager to get things together and I'm wanting to wait before I know I'm out of the first trimester.

Looking Forward To: our dating ultrasound MONDAY (less than a week away!)

Bumpdate: Week 7

How far along: 7 weeks

Due Date: March 29, 2017

Baby is the size of: A raspberry

Symptoms: Extremely tired, sore boobs, and I've had moments of feeling nauseous, but nothing bad at all.  Also, I've had my first few headaches (no fun!) and according to my Husband, I've been extremely moody.  *insert eye roll emoji right here*

Gender: Same as week 6-- Too early to tell.  I say girl-- Josh says boy :)

Name: won't know until we know the gender.

Movement: too early for that, but I am looking forward to the movement in the weeks to come!

Nursery: Still using the nursery as my workout space.  Utilizing it for as long as possible.

Maternity Clothes: Not yet, but I practically live in PJs when I'm not working.  My workout clothes are starting to feel tight and gross.

Sleep: Sleep has been amazing.  This past weekend I basically slept it away.  I can't get enough.

Best Moment This Week: Just getting through another one of these "early" weeks and hitting 7 weeks.

Missing Anything: coffee, diet coke (I didn't even drink them that much) but anything with caffeine.

Cravings/Aversions: Craving unhealthy foods, still.  Not any bad aversions, but plain WATER makes me feel queasy.  I've been living off of lemonade, Root Beer, and Sprite.  How healthy, right?!  Oh, and I get weird aversions to things I ate the previous day.  For example: I had amazing buffalo pretzel bites yesterday and they don't sound appetizing at all to me right now.

Health/Exercise: I just started Country Heat- which I'm super excited about.  It's a low impact, cardio dance workout.  I've not felt like working out AT ALL- but I'm pushing myself to continue with them because I know if I skip a day, I'll be all outta whack.

Mood: feeling blah now- I just feel weird and not myself in a way.  Like I'm battling a long-term hangover.  ha

Husband: He will hate me putting this out there- but we've been testing each other a lot lately. I've been moody and have had multiple headaches and he gets aggravated with me easy.  Granted, I do milk this thing more than I should be right now.

Looking Forward To: still looking forward to our dating ultrasound and telling family.

Bumpdate- Week 6

How far along: 6 weeks

Due Date: March 29, 2017

Baby is the size of: A blueberry--- how cute, right?!

Symptoms: Extremely tired and sore boobs.  That's about it.  Oh, I've been pretty hungry lately.

Gender: Too early to tell.  I say girl-- Josh says boy :)

Name: We've pretty much already picked a boy and girl name out.  That's always subject to change, though.

Movement: too early for that, but I am looking forward to the movement in the weeks to come!

Nursery: Nothing has been done in the nursery and I've still been using it as my "junk" room and fitness space.  We definitely need to rent a storage unit because we seriously don't have anywhere to put the extra stuff.

Maternity Clothes: Not yet-- even though I feel like I could rock some and feel amazing.  My clothes have been super tight thanks to the mega bloat I've been experiencing.

Sleep: Sleep has been amazing.  I'm so sleepy most of the time.

Best Moment This Week: Hitting the 6 week mark.  I feel like as the weeks progress-- I'll feel a little better about myself.

Missing Anything: not really, yet... *update* I'm missing endless amounts of coffee... like cup after cup.  I've not been drinking coffee on a regular basis because of the caffeine.  I've been continuing my pre-workout supplement, energize, which contains 100 mg of caffeine (and my max per day is 200) so I've opted to not drink coffee.  TODAY though, I traded in my pre-workout for a SMALL iced vanilla coffee from chick-fil-a. (89 mg of caffeine) Seriously- my weakness.  I'm sure I'll regret it this evening when I get my workout in without a boost of energy.  ha.

Cravings/Aversions: Craving any and everything carb and unhealthy.  I've been super hungry, so food in general sounds great.  Not having any food aversions at all.

Health/Exercise: I've been finishing my last week of 22 Min Hard Corps and I actually decided to tackle Hell Week, which is basically 2 workouts a day.  I don't know what I was thinking but I have been doing them and modifying a WHOLE BUNCH!

Mood: excited but SUPER NERVOUS.

Husband: Josh is SO EXCITED and HAPPY! And I think he's bursting at the seams just a little more than me to spill the beans...

Looking Forward To: our dating ultrasound on August 22nd.  It feels like forever away.

::How to find lost Motivation::

If you're anything like me-- motivation is EASY, yet it's so HARD at times.

It's EASY in the sense that when you have it-- it's AMAZING.  You're so motivated.  You're ALL IN.  But, when you lose the motivation, it's HARD.

HOW DO YOU GET IT BACK?

I think the answer is pretty simple--

whatever motivation you are trying to find--whether it be motivation to workout, eat healthy, work towards a business goal, etc. you must--

1. WANT IT
2. FIND out WHY you WANT it.

What is your WHY?  Why do you want to workout?  Why do you want to eat healthy?  Why do you want to achieve a certain business goal?

What would it MEAN to you to achieve it?

Would it mean CONFIDENCE, FREEDOM, SELF LOVE?

Would it mean financial freedom, life by design, setting your own goals and dreams?

Think about it for a second and write it down.  You have to want something for yourself wholeheartedly and not for anyone else.  And, for the love of all things fun, someone else can't want it for you.  It has to come from within!

You were MADE FOR MORE-- know that!

XO,

::adventures of J & L::

You know, working out by yourself has its advantages.

You don't get any weird looks from others.

You can rest when you want to.

You can look like a hot mess and no one will know.

But-- working out as a team also has its advantages.

You get motivation from each other to keep going.

You want to out-do the other one (hence more motivation and pushing yourself)

You aren't alone.

I've really learned to embrace my Husband working out with me and I look forward to the time I get home so that we can press play together.

Do you workout by yourself or with others?

workouts and the pups

You know, sometimes having two dogs drives me crazy. Think of it as a mini zoo. I can't turn around, go to the bathroom or eat a meal in peace.

Kinda like I'd imagine kids. I don't know, since I don't have any.

But, animals in the dog form are pretty needy. I may complain, but I honestly wouldn't trade them for the world. If I could do everything with them, I would.

The one thing that I can honestly say I enjoy about them and love having them around is during my daily workout. It's funny looking back on my gym days when I actually had to look put together to go sweat it out. That's as funny as it sounds. Sigh. Those were the days id stop my workout when I broke a sweat in fear that a guy was looking my way... Of course, a red faced, out of shape gal, is not attractive.

But-- fast forward to now. I have a man. I have fur babies. I have my own gym that consists of the area in front of my bed.
It gets the job done and honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way.

My dogs are part of my workout routine, and I look forward to them cheering me on, tripping me up, and licking my sweat when I'm finished.

You have to be a dog mom to understand.

::366 in 2016::

I'm going for 366 in 2016.

You may have seen others with this same phrase and, frankly, it could mean different things. But, for me, it means that I'm going for 366 straight days of Shakeology-- my healthiest meal of the day as cheesy as that sounds.

It 366 days because it's a leap year!

Why am I doing this? Simple. It's my daily multivitamin. My daily dose of nutrients. My probiotic. My healthiest meal of the day. Shakeology keeps me regular above all things... Sorry if that's TMI. I was always irregular prior to Shakeology going days without any 'activity'. Now, you can almost pinpoint it down to the hour.. Crazy.. But it feels good in every aspect. It also gives me energy. It makes my hair and nails grow FAST and strong. It curbs my sweet tooth.

It's pretty amazing and I feel like poo when I DONT drink it... Hence my reasoning for 366 in 2016!!

I'll keep you posted on how I do. So far-- I'm 6/6 in 2016!

Here's also a few things I've been up to in the fitness/nutrition department!

Day 1 of the challenge. I used my Shakeology as my 'go to' after I burned my collards. Oops.

Proclaiming my challenge!

Yoga Fix with my trainer this past Sunday. It felt good to stretch!

Shakeology strong!

I want to know-- are you going for 366 in 2016 or doing some other type of challenge? Let me know!

hello ::2016::

I say this every year and feel like a broken record, but 2 0 1 6 is the year that I'm actually going to get on my blogging train.

I have a few New Years Resolutions that I'm going to share and do my best to keep true to my word.  Who wants to hold me to it?

New Year Resolutions:

1.  Eat Healthier & Consistently workout

Yes, I realize that most people have this on their list.  But, I KNOW for a fact that I feel SO MUCH BETTER when I actually eat healthier foods.  The more good I put in my body, the better I feel.  Same goes for working out.

2.  Blog 3 times a week

I want to share my ups and downs and my journey with #1 above with all of you, the people who love and support me every single day.

3.  Save money

My sweet Husband likes to remind me daily of my bad spending habits.  I really struggle with the "life is too short and we're not guaranteed tomorrow" and the "you have to save money for the important things in life".  I need a good 50/50 balance with this.  Part of me says why save when I might not be here to live another day, but then reality hits, and I need money 20 years from now.  So, saving up is on my to-do list for 2016.

4.  Read 12 Personal Development Books

I've learned in the past couple of years, that filling yourself with good and inspirational things really DOES boost your morale and your outlook on life.  I can't stand Debbie downers, so I'm working on always seeing the good in everyday as opposed to the latter.  Personal Development is my jam when it comes to this.  My goal is to aim for 1 book a month.  I've got this.

5.  Have date-night with my Husband at least 1 time a month.

We have opposite schedules, so spontaneity is our go-to when it comes to date nights.  It's super important to make time for "us" especially since we are in our early stages of marriage and spending time with us and the pups before we talk about the "B" word.... you know what I mean?

6.  Go on at least 2 random weekend trips

We love to travel, and why not just pick up and go somewhere we haven't been before?  That's on my 2016 list!
Do you have any of the same resolutions as me?  If so, I want to hear them!
